@laddical.bsky.socialProps to Mark Mothersbaugh for the awesome synth soundtrack but also for including part of Patrick Doyle’s theme for #Thor as he ascends to the throne. #ThorRagnarok #MCU
@laddical.bsky.socialI legitimately forget sometimes that Hulk is even in this movie until I watch it again. I’m glad he’s here, but…
Cate Blanchett with heavy eyeliner.
What were we talking about?
@laddical.bsky.social“I have to get off this planet.”
The way Loki reacts to learning that Grandmaster’s “savage champion” is Hulk and the way he tries to sink into the couch when Thor is all, “Hey, Loki! Look who it is!” Perfect. Such an amazing callback and payoff with “YEAH! THAT’S HOW IT FEELS!” #ThorRagnarok #MCU
@laddical.bsky.socialKorg and Meek are such a great pairing in this movie. Just the right amount of them. #ThorRagnarok #MCU
@laddical.bsky.social“Proud to have it. Shamed of how he got it!”
I remember thinking around the time #BlackPanther came out that these two movies were in conversation concerning colonization. That it was a very interesting one-two punch to have these be the final movies before #AvengersInfinityWar.
@laddical.bsky.socialThe Grandmaster with his “Pure Imagination” intro hits very different post-#Wicked. I wonder if he got the Wizard part based primarily on this. #ThorRagnarok #MCU
@laddical.bsky.socialI’m fairly certain that if I had been 11 or 12 when #ThorRagnarok came out, Cate Blanchett as Hela would have codified a lot of things for me. In and out of her antlers.
As it is, she’s still a goddamn smoke show and absolutely steals the movie out from under Hiddleston and Hemsworth. #MCU
@laddical.bsky.social#ThorRagnarok was solid. If they wanted to move away from Branagh’s established tone, this was a nice step. Humorous, raucous, very Kirby, Thor is *mostly* still recognizable. Then Taika went too hard into his brand of humor and #ThorLoveandThunder was a mess. But he hit a sweet spot here. #MCU

@laddical.bsky.social“FOUND YOU!”
I generally like #ThorRagnarok better than #ThorLoveandThunder, but even then, I cannot abide what they did to the Warriors Three.
