The Scaffold’s “Lily the Pink” reached #1 in the UK in 1968

A “McCartney” in the band…

Built on an old music-hall melody and the comic legend of a miracle-medicine maker

I have a Scaffold fetish. 🤷‍♂️

‘Thursday is shepherds pie, is everybody happy? You bet your life we are.’ #TheScaffold

But there are many for this theme and I suddenly thought of another childhood song which had been recorded well before I was born but definitely hung around after making it, even reaching no1 for Christmas in 1968: “Lily The Pink” by #TheScaffold - who remembers this one?!
