Alright, I concede - in #TheProducersRemake, the film IMPLIES #MaxBialystock fucked (as in, had sex with) a million old ladies while we see him doing a song and dance routine. That said, I must emphasize - this IS an incredibly prudish and incredibly homophobic movie. Ⓐ

Sample dialogue in #TheProducersRemake:
#MaxBialystock (said to wads of cash): “Nobody knows what I went through to get you.”
#Terry: “Actually, I do. All you did was perform ONE song and dance routine for an army of horny old ladies. Oddly, they did NOT demand sex for their money (this time).” Ⓐ

I’d expect homosexuals to HATE #TheProducersRemake - because this is a film made in 2005, where umpteen million gay male characters are all grossly cartoonish (and totally unfunny) caricatures. I guess we need to accept the filmmakers were never capable of portraying gays or Nazis realistically. Ⓐ

Sample dialogue in the movie #TheProducersRemake, that was better delivered in the original #TheProducers:
#MaxBialystock: “So, you’re an accountant, huh?”
#LeoBloom: “Why, yes sir - I am, sir.”
#MaxBialystock: “Then account for yourself!” Ⓐ

In #TheProducersRemake, I loved the sight of a poster for “King Leer” (near the start of the film). Sadly, that great moment is overshadowed by the shitty song and dance routine that preceded it. And I thought to myself “This movie is over two hours long - AND it’s a fucking musical? Oh God, NO.” Ⓐ

In #TheProducers, the #NaziPlaywright is a loveable, bumbling idiot - a #HogansHeroesNazi. In #TheProducersRemake, he’s portrayed much the same way. But by 2005, for the remake - the character of the Nazi playwright should’ve been less cartoonish (and WAY more openly racist). Ⓐ

Saw #TheProducersRemake. The 1967 original (a good film) is family friendly, the remake is more risque. The original (a non-musical) was a product of its time - as far as humour goes. The remake’s humour was completely outdated the year it was released (2005). It should’ve been an R-Rated remake. Ⓐ
