I laid my bike down Wednesday. Got some road rash and general soreness about the neck and shoulders.

That 40K was the best ride I’ve had in a good long while. I don’t really know anymore what determines the quality of a ride — I don’t know if I ever knew that — but I’d like more rides that felt like that, please.

Absolutely perfect day for riding bikes. In 30 miles, however, I did not see another cyclist.

Maybe they went out earlier; maybe they spent their whole ride wondering where I was.

Probably they were just happy and grateful.

Cornfield below a blue sky with little dots of contemplative fluffy clouds. When you go through a spot that is built through a slough and it’s below sea level and the tide is in. A bridge over untroubled waters. There’s been a bridge here for more than a 150 years. Probably not this bridge, though. The second beach ball I’ve seen in the last three days. The universe is trying to tell me something.
