Chief Inspector: [to subordinate] "An American... Charlie? It's just a hunch, but I think we might be dealing with some kind of right-wing extremist what-have-you."

Shit! Right?? šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

Too real. The cop (Chief Inspector, actuallah) says to the other cop, "An American. Charlie? It's just a hunch, but I think we might be dealing with some right-wing extremist what-have-you," and, you know what, it's a sensible conclusion to draw.Funny, too. A little too close to home, but it's amusing.

Wally snorts some of his antihistamine inhaler

Lori: "What's that?"

Wally: "It's for my asthma."

Lori: "..."

Wally: "It's actually a powerful agent that heightens my senses, yet deadens my emotions."

Lori: "I could use some of that sometimes..."

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

Wally's doing his nerd shit, snorting his inhaler."What's that?""It's for my asthma." Then, he rethinks it, bc he 'realizes' he's in a staged production, and can make up anything he wants. "It's actually a powerful agent that heightens my senses, yet deadens my emotions."Oh gosh, she's so charming. Loving her performance. "I could use some of that sometimes..." Right??

Lori: "You're not just acting?"

Wally: "Well, we both are! In the Theatre of Life."

Lori: [musing] "Hm! I suppose we are..."

šŸ˜†

Guys, I *love* this movie. I'm watching it free on YouTube right now! You could watch it any time you wanted 🤩

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

"You're not just acting?""Well, we both are! In the Theatre of Life." [that's the name of the improv troupe that does the event he mistakenly thinks he's participating in; she, of course, thinks he's speaking poetically of Life writ large] [lol]"Huh! I suppose we are..."

Wally: [clapping at Spencer's corpse] "I'm impressed!"

Lori: "You are twisted..."

Idk whether these are #iconic lines for anyone else, but I saw this dozens of times growing up, and these hit super hard for me as an adult returning to it after a long break 🤩

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

It is funny what a sociopath the script makes Wally seem (to Lori) to be, and it's nearly as much of a sociopath as Bill Murray actually, in real life, reportedly is šŸ˜†God, Joanne Whalley is blowing my mind. Am I lonely? She looks incredible, and is really bringing a lot of authenticity and necessary grounding to this zany farce. She's a key component here, and I am loving her work!

🤣

#TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 100% holds up. If anything, this is better than I had remembered.

#FilmSky šŸŽ„

You can already see Spencer in the corner of the frame. This is a really funny moment.Spencer's corpse startles Lori, naturally, who understands this all to be real life. It's so lifelike (bc it's an actual corpse) that it startles Wally at first, too, who then remembers he's in a production, and laughs at how scared he was by a 'fake dead body.' Hilarity ensues.Lol, Spencer's dead-ass wide-open eyes crack me up

I have a lifelong love for character actor Alfred Molina that I'm always trying to get to the bottom of (a beloved, familiar face long before I saw him in Spider-Man 2) & this might be it.

Boris The Butcher is a pretty memorable character & Molina is great as 🤩

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

Boris, the Butcher, introduced (naturally) covered in blood and viscera.I guess he's got a daytime job, so he can pay taxes and whatnot. Makes sense to me. Who could be an assassin full time in this economy? Although I guess their economy was way better.

Joanne Whalley is positively serving in this movie (as Lori) šŸ˜

Goooooooooood night... I won't say anything untoward, but I will say that Ms. Whalley makes this movie a lot of fun to watch. I admire her work in this film.

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

What an absolute smokeshow, jeez! And she's already had, like, two major costume changes, and looked killer in both. Such fun!It does make sense that Wally would be a bit of a stumbling mess around Lori. I would be, too. Jesus!Look at her eyes, darting around! Ms. Whalley is making interesting choices, and the film is better for them.Ruh roh...

Gilbert: "But how do I know you are who you *say* you are?"

Wally: [pulling out a gun] "Oh, yeah! I have this."

Gilbert: "Well, then, of course you are!"

šŸ˜‚

#TheManWhoKnewTooLittle kicks ass. What a fun movie. I need to get back to editing, but I had to sneak in another scene 1st.

#FilmSky šŸŽ„

I like the lean against the doorframe. "Let's have a scene with the bobbies!" Good movie!"Daggenhurst sent you didn't he?" "... maybe." "But how do I know you are who you *say* you are?""Oh, yeah! I have this.""Well, then, of course you are!" It's timed so perfectly, too, lol. Goddamn, this movie is funny!

A frankly #iconic line:

Lori: "Are you gonna bring me that martini, or do I have to suck it out of the glass from here?"

Wally: [stammering] "Uh, no, I'll... I'll bring it over."

#FilmSky šŸŽ„ #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 🧵

I remember this being QUITE racy to me as a young person, seeing this with my family. I was like "Whoa! This doesn't usually happen in movies we all watch..."Such a funny line read from both of them. Whalley puts SO much sauce on "SUCK it out of the glass," and it's therefore so funny when Murray stammers and stutters, bc he would lol.
@iamkaymichelle.bsky.socialOct 13, 2026, 7:59 PM

Lori: "An American. What are you, CIA? Mafia?"

Wally: [clears throat] "Both."

šŸ˜†

Yeah, this totally holds up. Good, fun movie, #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle. Joanne Whalley plays Lori; known professionally as Joanne Whalley-Kilmer up until just before this film's release.

#FilmSky šŸŽ„

Ruh roh... I'd forgotten, I had quite the thing for Ms. Whalley, as Lori, in this film. The fact that she's dressed in a French maid outfit doesn't help, either.Murray at his Murrayest in this film, I'd argue. Not the height of his powers, necessarily, but a very Murray performance.Whew! She's easy on the eyes, that Lori. "Both." The script is good. There's a novel, so I bet most of the plotting and structure, etc. come from that, and then Farrar and Franklin got to punch it up with a bunch of jokes and clever stuff (but I haven't read the book, and to be clear, the novel's author is also credited as a screenwriter, along with Benjamin Franklin).
@iamkaymichelle.bsky.socialOct 13, 2026, 4:35 PM

I'm usually the last person in the world who'd enjoy a protracted credits sequence, but #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle 's is flawless 🤌

The music is perfect; plus, all the visuals are relevant to the plot and (to the extent the movie has any) themes. This is a tremendous opener for a #film 🤩

A largely unheralded ā€˜mistaken identity’ spy comedy that proves more interested in being funny than good. Those who dislike Bill Murray will find nothing here to change their opinion, but the script wrings plenty of laughs from an outlandish premise wholeheartedly embraced. #TheManWhoKnewTooLittle
