🎠#OTD in #Theatre#History 6 September 1642, the Puritans in Parliament ordered the closure of #London theatres, including #TheGlobe theatre, once part-owned by #WilliamShakespeare. It was demolished in 1644 to make room for tenements. The Globe rose again in 1997.
