I just got done #thatching my mom's #lawn, after I mowed it. Had to mow it again after I thatched it to get all the dead grass up.
I swear she had enough thatch in her grass to re-roof most of the #UK.

Edit to add: I've named the electric thatching machine "Margaret", for obvious reasons.

It's re-thatching season!

A colour photo of a crowd of medievals houses. Behind one tile roof can be seen a dark thatched roof behind dismantled and replaced with fresh golden straw. Rolls of straw sit on a scaffold nearby.

#BlueSkyMonday

Fresh thatch - redoing the ridge.

A colour photo of the roof of a thatched cottage, mostly brown and a bit scruffy but with scaffolding and ladders up to the ridge which shows the beginning of new thatching along the ridge (the apex of the roof). Bright clean straw is laid down and held in place with giant pins. Greenery around and a blue sky with fluffy clouds above.
