First light on the #Tektronix RM503!
Right to Repair is inherent in these old devices. The companies often publish, for free, the manuals and circuit diagrams.

Two signal generators displayed on X and Y channels. (H trigger and sweep don't trigger or sweep yet.)New filament transformer for the CRT cathode heater. The one in the main transformer is apparently shorting to ground. New wiring for filament voltage (right in green and red), new HV capacitor (red), and new resistors (blue) for the HV circuit.

My ancient #Tektronix RM503 #oscilloscope is showing signs of life.
It was missing its high-voltage diode, but with it installed it hisses and the power supply gets very unstable. That said, the CRT did show signs of life. I suspect leaky filter capacitors.

Bottom cover removed from a Tektronix RM503 oscilloscope from about 1960. It shows point-to-point wiring in the classic Tektronix ceramic terminal strips. A faint green line on the CRT shows that it is basically working.
