A mundane question from a Friday evening brain.. If I have a protein overexpressing 20% more in a sample and it is the most abundant protein in that sample, how should I normalize the data for fold analysis for the rest of the proteins if an equal representative sample was analyzed.. #TeamMassSpec

At Absea, we think a protein-level reference can offer more.

Our ¹⁵N-labelled protein standards generate multiple labelled peptides from the same reference protein after digestion, giving several peptide-level readouts instead of relying on one synthetic peptide.

Hey, #TeamMassSpec, this is a safe space! What’s a mass spec habit you have that would make absolutely no sense to anyone outside the field?

We’ll go first: talking to the instrument like it can hear you. Your turn.

#TeamMassSpec curiosity question, especially for those doing small cell number single pot digestions. Are you still using DDM in your early lysis buffer and if so do you normalize the % or a set amount?
Also, has anyone tried just prepping a plate by coating w/ DDM then not having it elsewhere?

Watch out #TeamMassSpec, you could win $50k for making a winning submission!
