What happens when TDD meets AI agents? ๐Ÿค–

David Parry explores how agents can turn requirements into executable tests, collaborate on implementation, and help teams move from acceptance criteria to passing codeโ€”while keeping humans firmly in control.

Big chunk of client work out the door today, now back to finalizing two new chapters of my book on Rails's default test stack. Still $9 while WIP. https://leanpub.com/everydayrails-testing-from-scratch/c/CDD5705EB0DE #Rails #Ruby #IndiePub #TDD #WIP

That TDD makes the top of the list of the used skills is a good sign. It means the agent is taking my instructions seriously! #AIEngineering #TDD #CLIFirst #AIFirst

Screenshot shows a report of the skills that the agent used the most. In this case TDD tops this list 46% of the usage.

We cover unit testing our own mappings, using built-in validators AutoMapper provides, and what we donโ€™t write tests for.

Check out this post from Scott on unit testing some AutoMapper mappings. https://bit.ly/3WtR7B2

"TDD isn't really about testing, as its name would imply. Rather, it's a design technique with low-level verification as a side effect."

๐Ÿงช #TDD becomes a gated RED โ†’ GREEN โ†’ REFACTOR flow with evidence, and a fresh-context reviewer checks the changes instead of the same context grading its own code

@convectiveinc.bsky.socialSep 9, 2026, 4:01 PM

Coding-agent TDD debates assume tests already exist. Most legacy estates have none. The first move is not TDD. It is characterization tests that pin down what the code already does. www.convective.com/blog/tdd-in... #TDD #LegacyCode
