The last known #thylacine, called the #TasmanianTiger & #TasmanianWolf, died on #ThisDayInHistory in 1936, alone at the #HobartZoo. A #carnivorous #marsupial, humans hunted it to extinction, and its peculiar evolutionary history contributes to regular hopes for a cloned revival.
