Oh, but I'm going to be watching this as it aired in theatres - starting with the SD Gundam shorts.

It's like, the Angela Anaconda part of Digimon the Movie. It's part of the package.

#TannerWatchesGundam

But it's finally time for me to watch Char's Counterattack. I've been wanting to see this forever. Why does Suda51 and Travis Touchdown think it's so good it's worth watching once a year. I need to know.

For that, no thread - I'll be doing a commentary.

That's the end of ZZ Gundam. Not as dire as Zeta's ending, but still a little bittersweet. More sweet than bitter.

It was a show that matured a lot. It's interesting. I think it has some stuff I think it does better than Zeta but I still think Zeta is better. But I enjoyed it.

#TannerWatchesGundam

Jesus, that's bright

#TannerWatchesGundam

CLEARLY you don't own an air fryer, oldtype

#TannerWatchesGundam

This whole sequence is super cool but also YOU CAN NEWTYPE SO HARD YOU BECOME A BOMB??

A NUKETYPE????

#TannerWatchesGundam

As I approach the end of ZZ Gundam I truly have to say

Man they're so bad for spoiling character deaths in the titles. Like insanely so.

Like hmm I wonder what "Emary, Wilted Flower" is about.

#TannerWatchesGundam

Ple-Two (who I feel *has* to be partially the inspiration for Mewtwo) looks like a Mega Man ZX character with this new get up. This rules.

#TannerWatchesGundam

"Rasara's Life" might be one of the worst looking anime episodes I've ever seen, what the hell happened

Between insanely off model shots (what the hell is this arm) and the fact a lot of animation is just sliding still images, this is real bad

#TannerWatchesGundam

Insane for Judau to be kicked out for being too ugly when they're kinda #giving

Overall this episode feels like a throwback to the early wackiness that was lost when it went back to Gundam. Kind of fun because of that.

#TannerWatchesGundam

Wait a second

Stolen girls at the house of a local mob boss who has an extremely "oriental" style to his place

The guys crossdress to try and get them out

Final Fantasy VII just stole this plot for Wall Market!

Only difference is Cloud is hot while Judau is not lmao

#TannerWatchesGundam

God this place is so cool why does it have to be run by an actual pedophile

#TannerWatchesGundam

Dude this sick Hong Kong style colony with its Zakus posing like war gods is so cool, I hate that I look it up on the Gundam wiki and it's like "yeah its mentioned in one other thing but you'll never see it again"

Bring back Tigerbaum

#TannerWatchesGundam

It's kind of poetic how Judau was the shit-kid-stealing-a-Gundam-for-money and now that's he's a more standard soldier guy who matured a bit, having him now deal with the next generation of shit kids brings it all around

Though he is not afraid to literally just kick a kid huh

#TannerWatchesGundam

See this is weird cause Judau is acting like "oh I need the money for Leina's school" and everyone except Beecha is like playing along for him and Beecha is like JUDAU IS SICK but we SEE Leina is alive so there's no tension. He just knows suddenly.

#TannerWatchesGundam

The Zssa is so stupid lmao

Hope you don't get shot in one of the DOZENS OF EXPOSED MISSILES

Yeah paint that bitch BRIGHT YELLOW IN SPACE need that MUSTARD GUNDAM

#TannerWatchesGundam

Holy shit he disappeared in like episode 8 and now its episode 37 and he's back with a 300% worse fit and also the show isn't a comedy anymore, how will they use him

#TannerWatchesGundam

Okay wait I was seriously confused there was nothing to suggest Leina lived and that Sayla from MSG was even in this show. I googled "did I miss something" and no it's just... a thing they added because at this point Char's Counterattack was given the greenlight? Very weird.

#TannerWatchesGundam

:'(

#TannerWatchesGundam

Damn. Damn damn damn. The colony drop on Dublin is such a chilling way to end an episode. And the fact the Earth Federation is like "oh well! Less mouths to feed on an overpopulated Earth" is so rage inducing but so realistic.

Even in ZZ, war is Hell.
