Gave Eris a new outfit and an alternate weapon!

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

Eris, the Goddess of Discord from my Tales from Rooton stuff, wearing a brown barge cap with a black belt and a metal chain (which depicts a flower native to Rooton that has wildly unpredictable growing conditions), a purple crop top, a navy blue asymmetrical jacket, red shorts with a rose belt and brown folded boots, holding a large modern-looking Cannon with a blade attached to it.

Jeriah Waters (Fel Demon)

(Lore in alt text!)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic fox/dragon with black fur, green highlights, an open violet cloak with torn sleeves, a loincloth and violet boots and one tattered wing, holding a blue sword made from arcane energy.

At the culmination of his corruption, Jeriah razed the Citadel, taking down anyone who would not join him in storming Heris (the underworld) to bring Jessie back. When Jordyn and Dorin refused to join him, they clashed, eventually overpowering their old friend. The Darkblight then took hold of him, granting him new powers and a more powerful form...

[Jeriah's new Fel form is somewhat inspired by Susano'o from BlazBlue]

Eleanor Waters!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic fox, wearing a tattered poncho, a blue shirt, dark blue trousers and a bone bracelet. She's kneeled down, petting a small Fennec Fox-like critter.

Eleanor is the younger of Jeriah's sisters. After Jessie's death, she started studying Druidry and gained a close bond to some of the creatures in the Citadel. A while into Jeriah's corruption, he managed to convince her to help him bring their sister back and she quickly fell to Darkblight.

[Minor amounts of blood]
Robyn Doodles!

#talesfromrooton #oc #doodles

A collection of doodles of Robyn Ashgrave, an oc from Tales from Rooton, who felled a cursed deer that threatened, and is now turning into a Wendigo. (Anyone can have the curse warded throughout any stage, provided they manage to resist the final bite. If the afflicted transforms, the only way to dispel the curse is through death)

[Top Left] A front-on view of Robyn, without the cloak. The note reads; "Robyn does have a 2nd antler, but it's smaller"
[Top Right] (Bottom) Robyn tearing a chunk out of a leg of meat (Top) Robyn, with her hood up, feasting on a bird and blood running from her mouth. The notes read (in order); Those afflicted with the curse gain a ravenous hunger, which worsens over time | Afflicted may eat fresh kills to sate themselves.
[Bottom Left] Robyn in the curse's late stages. Both her antlers are longer, she has a tuft of fur at the base of her neck, and the black fur covers all but the lower part of her face.
[Bottom Middle] An Swallowtail Broadhead arrow a recurve bow.
[Bottom Right] "I'm becoming a monster..." - Robyn pulling her hood down to show Jordyn her face (who had originally thought she was a Faun)

Robyn Ashgrave

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic Red Panda, wearing Leg, Arm and Chest wraps, a dark green loincloth and a dark red cloak. She also has long claws, the lower legs of a deer and a horn growing from her head, with a black patch of fur spreading from it.

Robyn Ashgrave is a Red Panda from the town of Rocksdale. She used to be a hunter for the village, until she felled a cursed deer that had made the nearby forest too dangerous for the townsfolk, and noticed that parts of her were starting to change. Robyn then left the village in search of a way to undo the curse, in fear she would turn into a monster.

Dorin Storn!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic Fennec Fox, wearing a set of Blue mage robes. He is holding a stave-axe

Dorin Storn is a Fennec Fox who grew up in the Desert Kingdom of Pamyra, and journeyed to the Citadel with his father to learn Stormcasting. When Jordyn arrived, Dorin was the first to befriend him and the two became quite close. Following the incident, he believed his father to be dead, so he headed back home to deliver the news (though he did discover that he managed to escape), leaving Jordyn behind to search for Tanner's Lawn, in the hopes that the two of them would meet there again. Like Jordyn, he has an immortality pendant in case Jeriah broke free from the seal, but he keeps it in his robe.

Jeriah Waters!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic fox, wearing a black shirt, shorts and boots, with a green cloak, holding a polearm.

Jeriah Waters is a Fox who grew up in the western edge of Rootea, along with his sisters; Eleanor and Jessie. When Jessie fell ill, Jeriah and Eleanor were sent to the Azure Citadel to learn curing magic (the cities' healers were spread thin, dealing with a particularly persistent outbreak in the northern sector, and the Apothecaries' medicines had little effect) before her condition worsened. When Jeriah retuned home, he discovered that Jessie had unfortunately passed, so he returned to the Citadel, hoping he could grow his magic to save someone else. On the return journey, he fell into the River Arkha and was rescued by the Goddess herself. Following this, she had Kyron deliver her Poleblade to the Citadel for Jeriah to use. It was at this time that an injured Jordyn was brought to the Citadel, so Jeri used his healing magic to help him recover, but was distant towards him for a few months. Jessie's death still ate away at him, so he started studying Necromancy to try and find a way to bring her back. Due to conflicting feelings over this, he was corrupted by Darkblight and ravaged the Citadel before being sealed away by Jordyn and Dorin.
Over the 100 years he was sealed away, he fought off his own corruption and accepted his sister's death. He was broken out by the King of Veridia, who had heard of the Citadel Incident, but was dismayed to learn that Jeriah was no longer corrupted, who then set off in search of Jordyn...

Kerrin/ Arrine doodles

#talesfromrooton #oc #doodles

Two doodles of Kerrin, a Weather Mage who was possessed by a Voidborn (primordial entity) named "Arrine" while performing an incantation. The two of them have control over Kerrin's body, but only one at a time (and Arrine having a slight change in appearance when they take control)

[Top] A doodle of Kerrin charging a ball of lightning, leaning forward with her cloak flowing to the side.

[Bottom] A doodle of Arrine taking control of Kerrin to eviscerate an opponent who has given her a hard time. They're depicted charging up an astral spell while saying "This vessel shall not fall"

Fae

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #fae #doodle

An anthropomorphic moth, wearing a dress, a bead chain belt and several bracelets.
The text on the right reads;
- Inhabit the forests of the Old World
- Notorious tricksters
- Can wield arcane arts

Fae are moth-folk that inhabit the forests of the Old World. While seemingly harmless, they are notorious tricksters and have been known to steal the names or even the voices of some travelers, among other things. Despite this, they are largely courteous towards those who are wise to their tricks. The Fae also do not get along well with Crag Harpies, and consider them a pest if they show up.

Harpies!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #ocs #doodles #harpy

Several half-bird folk.
[Left] Kira Stormwind (before her exile), A Wolf/ Hawk Harpy.

[Top Right] A Coati/ Amphithere in flight.

[Bottom Right] A Fox/ Snowy Owl Harpy

Harpies are half-bird folk who inhabit various regions of the Old World, as well as some areas outside of it. They have a strict aversion to wielding the arcane, and exile any flock members caught using it.

The Crag Harpies are generally found nesting in cliffs or steep rock faces, but have been known to make them in old castle or forte ruins too. Crag Harpies are also infamous for hunting travellers, but this only applies to a small number of large flocks.

Snow Harpies are found in mountainous regions and snowy spruce forests, nesting in sheltered spots out of the harsh winds. They have dense fur & feathers on their bodies to help combat the freezing weather. Snow Harpies are also known to stay away from travellers.

Amphitheres inhabit the Jungles, nesting in the dense canopies of Rainfruit trees. They are extremely friendly, and even share their Rainfruit harvests with the local Naga communities. There have been reported sightings of them outside of the Old World, but these are extremely rare.

Naga!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #ocs #doodles

Several pencil drawings of half-snakes (otherwise known as Naga).

[Top Left] A Jaguar/Snake with her arms folded behind her back. The notes read; Python. Naga that inhabit the Rainforests of the Old World. Can Grow to great lengths, mainly to wrap around trees.

[Top Right] A Dragon/Snake with an arm not drawn to show off the Dorsal Fin. The notes read; Merrow. Inhabits the Coastal regions & The Great Shelf. Excellent swimmers, can move on land.

[Bottom] A Fennec Fox/Snake. The notes read; Sidewinder. Inhabits the desert regions. Reside(s) in surface caverns.

Naga are half-snake folk who inhabit various regions of the Old World.

The "Python" Naga reside in the rainforests of the Old World, mostly living in small communities along lakefronts. Python also have the longest length of any Naga species.

The "Merrow" Naga live in the Coastal regions of the Old World, and within the "Great Shelf" (an unfathomably deep trench) in communities with Merfolk. They are the best swimmers of any Naga species, but they can also move around on land as well.

The "Sidewinder" Naga inhabit the Desert regions of the Old World, living in caverns that breach the surface to avoid the harsh sun. They have the fastest land speed of any Naga species and are generally the most willing to interact with the plain-folk (the "normal" inhabitants of the world).

Kerrin Setter (Arrine)!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic goat, wearing a blue wizard hat and mage robes, both with purple hems. They have curved horns, starry pupils, a pony tail and several shadowy fox tails. They're kneeling down, holding out an arcane star in one hand.

Arrine is a Voidborn that linked with Kerrin, and is a sibling of Aregyn, being an extension of the same void. However, unlike their sibling, they have no "true" form, other than a shadowy fox made from arcane energy. When possessing Kerrin, the gold on their robes turns purple, their necklace & belt gain an eye-like marking, their horns curve, they gain pads and claws on her hands, and they gain several shadowy tails that are somewhat hard to see. Their spellcasting power is also increased several times. At first, Kerrin loathes Arrine and tries to get rid of them (especially since either of them have little to no recollection of what the other did when they take control), but she eventually learns to co-exist with them and accepts her fate as a Voidhand.

Kerrin Setter!

(Lore in alt text)

#talesfromrooton #oc #drawing

An anthropomorphic goat wearing layered mage robes and a typical wizard's hat adorned with rings on the left on the brim. All of the jewellery she wears (several bracelets, an earring, and two anklets) is in a shade of blue.

Kerrin is a Meteonic Mage (A mage who combines arts to weaponise weather phenomena) who grew up in the western region of Rooton. After she had become a skilled Mage, Kerrin had to perform an incantation to resolve a drought somewhere in Rooton, and reached too deep with her magic and connected with Arrine, who used that arcane path to link with her being. She blacked out afterwards and woke up in the middle of doing something, and the incantation's effect was far more powerful than it should have been. No apothecary in the land could figure out what was happening, until she tried to replicate what she'd done during the incantation and a shadowy figure introduced itself to her. Following this, she was more aware of their possessions and would eventually be able to converse with them.
