Superb garden tick in the form of Black Stork earlier today, with a bird seen circling overhead for a few minutes before drifting off back towards Landguard #SuffolkBirding
Cracking views of a Shore Lark on the beach at Easton Bavents, north of Southwold, yesterday afternoon - my 201st sp on the patch this year #suffolkbirding #ukbirding
3 x Skylark owa house just now. Not a year tick - but only 2nd house record. Which probs has more to do with hearing aids than anything else 🤣
A good weekend on my local West Suffolk patch at Denston: 1CY YLG, 3 Stonechat, and 1 Rock Pipit – a patch tick! #patchbirding #Larids #Suffolkbirding

Called in to see the Starling roost at Snape Maltings. About 5k arrived and did a few laps before straight to bed. Also in attendance were an adult Hobby and a juv Marsh Harrier.
The show was won by a load of big Mullet in the river!

A yomp down the Walberswick shingle this afternoon did not produce the hoped for Zitting Cisticolas. Maybe next year
Highlight was a nice party of 5 Spotted Redshanks that flew past to land on one of the small pools. My favourite of the passage waders...

Been back along to Iken( Tina Turner) cliff (sorry can't help it) to look for the Black Stork without luck. I have a turbulent history with these giant Oystercatchers... I've dipped 4 and counting... #UKBirding #SuffolkBirding
Anyone have any info on a Black Stork at Snape, Suffolk recently and more importantly is it still around ?

This evening 15 adult Pale-bellied Brent Geese touched down at Ness Point, Lowestoft. They could not be any further east & were completely un-phased as they fed as the tide pushed them ever closer to us. A memorable encounter for East Anglia. @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social #ukbirding #suffolkbirding
