@bernardjkd.bsky.social#StudioOne Ok I found a FOURTH member of my 100 Club under the new criteria.
Joanne Woodward age 96.
Her very first IMDB was #TalesOfTomorrow TV ep #2.19 "The Bitter Storm" (26-Dec-52) which I've watched.
@bernardjkd.bsky.social#StudioOne Ok I expanded my criteria for my 100 Club which previous just had women I've seen on 1940s TV.
My 100 Club now includes women who I've seen on TV up to 1954.
So there are 3 members as some late 90s yo newbies are permitted.
Marilyn Erskine 100yo
Donna Martell 98yo
Nita Talbot 96yo
@bernardjkd.bsky.social#StudioOne

Martha Kent #SupermanReturns
Wilma Deering #BuckRogers
So farewell to my penultimate surviving 100 Club Member one Eva Marie Saint.

@bernardjkd.bsky.social#StudioOne TV ep #2.03 "The Outward Room" (26-Sep-49).
This article I mistakenly attributed to TV ep #1.05 (09-Jan-49) is actually for this later version of the same story.
Again the ep doesn't exist... just this article remains.
@bernardjkd.bsky.social#StudioOne TV 2.02 cont'd.
Wichita was played by Anne Francis who would have a legendary career.
She was #HoneyRider which is on my to do list.
However I only as yet seen her in:
#Suspense TV ep #2.05 "Dr. Violet" (04-Oct-49).

They can't do a split screen live on TV yet so how they did the phone call split screen is fantastic and has to be seen to be believed.
The ventriloquist dummy was very pretty uncanny though. Clearly it had an operator but the hand up its arse wasn't noticeable on live TV.

This adapts Ben Hecht's 1928 Short Story of the same name. In the interim it was also a Movie "The Great Gabbo" (12-Sep-29).
I think TV writers might've changed the reference to Fred Astaire who got famous in the 1920s to someone who got famous in the 1940s, eg Sinatra.
@bernardjkd.bsky.social#StudioOne TV ep #2.02 "The Rival Dummy" (19-Sep-49).
I could only find this in 16:9. Serious what vintage TV fans stretches a 4:3 show to 16:9. Idiot.
Ahh late 1940s Radio and TV loves it's scary ventriloquist's dummy psychological interplay and so do I.
