Some classic old brick buildings I found in Sedalia, Missouri.

This three-story building was the original Montgomery Wards building in Sedalia. Built of stone it has multiple panels with graphics cut into the story, some of which are accent with some rusty-brown paint.

Beautiful stonework surrounds the entrance and windows of this multi-story brick building. The pair of wood doors with large windows sits under a blue canopy.

I always enjoy seeing people add some color to their environment whether it be a shop window, on stairs, or on a concrete plaza as seen here in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Warrensburg, Missouri business, is the home of Central Missouri State University whose mascot is known as Mo the Mule. A local business adorned one of it's windows with a mule wearing sunglasses and a multi-colored jacket.

The vertical risers of these stairs in Warrensburg, Missouri have been painted to depict a river running down the length of the stairs with a meadow on either side.

Rather than just using plain concrete, this sidewalk plaza area in Warrensburg, Missouri has a series of red, yellow, green, orange, and blue circles cast into the pavement.

I find it interesting that some building owners embrace the history of their building, while others just totally cover it up. Here's one of each I found in Warrenesburg, Missouri.

A two-story brick and stone building that is identified at the roofline as the "C. W. Cord" building from 1897. The lower level houses "Magnolia Market". Neon signs in the windows tout "Central Dairy ice cream & treats" and "Coffee Breakfast & more!".

Brown's Shoe Fit Co. is housed in this two-story building clad with corrugated metal panels to cover the entire front of the building. The company name is shown in large white letters across the width of the building with 5 white lights above it. The street level has three door entrances and almost full height windows. The 3 center windows are painted with graphics of a person carrying a boombox, pictures of shoes, and the words, "Fresh Kicks Sold Here!".

Old Drum was a hunting dog whose death in 1869 led to a Missouri Supreme Court case inspiring the phrase "a man's best friend". This statue of Old Drum sits outside the Johnson County Courthouse.

This is the Sedalia Trust Building. Built in 1887 it is made of Missouri limestone with Renaissance Revival and Romanesque Revival design elements. It features a multi-gable and towered roofline.
