If you’d like a (kind of) cross between #StoryOfMinglan and #SwordAndBrocade then I highly recommend #AgainstTheCurrent. Liu Xueyi finally has an excellent drama and script. It’s very feminist, with a positive underlying message (despite the ep 1 tragedy). A lot of love for it here on Bluesky.

The people making this list have clearly never seen Asian dramas, because how can #Shogun be the only one on the list? 😅

No #StoryOfMinglan, #NirvanaInFire, #EmpressesInThePalace, #StoryOfYanxiPalace, etc

No #Reply1988, #MyMister, or #TwentyFiveTwentyOne, etc

#cdrama #kdrama #jdrama

Oh, this thread is rather funny and very enjoyable to read! It’s also been soooo helpful in not making me feel bad about starting, watching a dozen or so eps and then stopping #StoryOfMinglan. Thank you. I feel less sad (less ashamed?) that I just couldn’t manage it myself.
