stumbled onto this one while looking for the Stars post. I'd forgotten about it. definitely an homage subconsciously to M. Whelan's "Lovecraft's Nightmare" diptych, imagery I've tripped on since I was like 10 ha

a trunk something twists from top to bottom, as a tree's might, but this one's bark has been torn away revealing glowing red eyes, strange flesh, and teeth

I was reminded that I haven't reskeeted my pfp since the original post in mid 2024, probably because that was pretty soon after I'd joined here and I hadn't started doing Alt Text yet. so, here's an Alt Text re-post

scrungly skelly buddy: upper body and head, the body clothed in suit jacket, collared shirt, tied tie. head is a smooth pale bluish and white thumb of boneflesh, with exposed nasal cavity, far too many teeth, a glaring cloudy right eye, and an almost invisible left eye that's sunken deep in its dark cave of a socket.

upper body of humanoid wearing suit and tie. above that, exposed clenched teeth flanked by strange bone structure. above that, a single eye aligned veritcally, in between two hands stretching away to the left and right, fingers spread. sharp claw like nails. on this creature's parted hair stands a small cartoonish guy with a skullface, similarly parted hair, and two black horns that each have a cross bisection. atop that little guy's head is an even smaller lik guy in similar poserobed figure--or is it flesh unraveling itself?--with black, glinting eyes in raw red flesh. human-ish lower arms and end in hands with too many overlong fingers that end in thin talonsa pile of layered intestine-like mass is topped by warped bone white organic structures. ribs elongate to become overlarge bulbs, with clawed appendages and other more amorphous and unrecognizable outgrowths sprouting writhing clumps of entwined vascular tendrils. this largest lower area atop the entrail mound suggest a downward triangle of negative space. above that, the upper ribs encase the upper sections like armor.two arms are spread open and upward; one entact with black talon tipped hand curling its middle finger toward the cleave of its open palm. the other, bisected halfway up the forearm, with a dark orb floating over it where the other hand would be. where there would be a face atop the vague shoulders there, a large hand is grasping what would be its head, with two more arm jutting out from the sides of the head area, those elbows bent and forming an upward pointing triangle with the long-fingered hands pressed together as if in prayer. those arms are also severed about halfway along the forearms, but surrealistically in place as if they are intact. black veins stretch out of the hand-covered head area, as if reaching for energy like a plant's tendrils mightFPV: someone looking down at their hands—but they've become dark and strange and covered in tiny eyes that are staring back at them/the viewer
