And now for something completely different- the Violet Oil Beetle, seen in Minnesota at Myre-Big Island State Park.

You take the high #bridge, and I'll take the low bridge. #HockingHills #StatePark #Ohio #photography #SupportPublicLands

We took both bridges across Old Man's Creek. First we crossed the A-frame upper bridge; then later on the hike we crossed the sculptural bridge. Each step on the lower concrete bridge is separate from the next and supported by its own pillar. I especially like the way that the design mirrors the curve of the overhanging sandstone. The upper bridge is made of wood and steel trusses. More information about the lower bridge is at the URL.

This is from Ohiopyle State Park on Ferncliff Peninsula. We hit the peak color that year. This photo does have an increase in color saturation, glow, and shadows. No AI used ever. #noAIused #autumn #fallcolor #statepark #publicland #nature #hiking #forest #environment

A color photo of yellow, red, and green trees with a wide hiking trail starting on the left. A dreamy, colorful image.

This is still one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. It feels like it captured summer and fall in one photo. Yes, I know these rhododendrons are evergreen. #fineartphotography #noAIused #nature #rhododendron #statepark #publiclands #nature #forest

A color photo of a yellow autumn leaf on a deep green rhododendron leaf. There is leaf litter on the ground.

It's been a rough week. Everyone in my family is down with a brutal head cold; no hiking for us this weekend. So I'm trying to work today and maybe tomorrow on more edited photos from previous autumn seasons. #fineartphotography #autumnvibes #fallcolor #statepark #publiclands #hiking

A color photo of a wide hiking trail with tall thin tree trunks on both sides. The sun is shining from the left side showing beautiful fall colors.
