Good day out around the Ham Wall/ Shapwick Heath area. Birds seen included 50+Cattle Egret, 2 late Hobby’s, Peregrine, Kingfisher and 2 Glossy Ibis. #somersetbirding

Some good birding at Stert Point yesterday and today. 3 Leach’s
Petrels this morning (inc. one that flew alone the shoreline about 100m out), Little Gull, Pale-bellied Brent Goose and c230 Sanderling. Last night a Manx Shearwater, 24 Kittiwakes, 2 Little Gulls and 2 Arctic Terns #somersetbirding

Brean Down vismig this AM: 11 Jay, 1 Woodlark, 21 Skylark, 364 Swallow, 7 H. Martin, 1 Grey Wag, 16 alba Wag, 201 Mipit, 25 Chaffinch, 1 Redpoll, 13 Siskin & 12 Reed Bunting. Present: 1 Guillemot, 1 Dartford Warbler, 1 Mistle Thrush & this Blackbird with almost entirely black bill #somersetbirding

Very nice Leach’s views this morning preceded an amazing afternoon with the Brue Red-necked Phalarope feasting on flies just metres away. Showing as well and as unphased as only juvenile waders seem to #somersetbirding
