Loved the genre hop!

How do we like this season of Star Trek Strange New Worlds?

Exciting day gets even more so!
In just an hour: I'll be on LIVE with Chris talking S4 of #SNW, #StarTrek!

My theory about Pike.

"Admiral Pike" only exists in alternate futures. Rejecting Commodore in S4 keeps him in Enterprise until becoming Fleet Captain for training. Writers use Commodore/Admiral because flag ranks carry far more weight for modern viewers.

Refitted Constitution or Weregalaxy. Will it change back to a constitution when the moon is not full??? NO! In space all moons are Full moons!

To appreciate how truly awful #SNW is, you need to attempt a rewatch from S1e1... after 20 minutes, you're OUT, never to return.
#ItsWorseThanYouThink

I mostly love Pike, Discovery and early SNW did a lot for him, making him know his fate, so he could show viewers how to approach and embrace unconventional lives, was so good and really differentiates him from more typical captains. I edited his most profound lines.

Next week we will do what no other #StarTrek podcast has thought to do after the #SNW season finale, and follow that up with a fulsome discussion of "Yesterday's Enterprise" from #StarTrekTNG's third season. Take that minions of the orthodoxy!

🧵 I've recorded 40 separate sets of #StarTrek #SNW Season 4 rankings.

In summary, we have a pretty set stacking with a clear cut 1-3, 4 and 5 neatly tiered together, 6-8 in close proximity and a clear and decisive result at 9 & 10.

I'll release another update if/when I record 50 lists total.

Some? Yes.

All? Doubtful.

Explanation? Last year #SNW was beloved by most #StarTrek fans and if TPTB crashed, then WB, etc. might fail them out.

The season of "gimmick" undermined a ton of that love. And if TPTB crash no one else might want to bail them out.

Also Una keeps getting short shrift.

A more thorough search and new submissions has brought the total number of rankings up to 33.

We have Orders of Magnitude & Off-Hour tied at the top, with the tie-breaker going to Orders of Magnitude due to 14 #1 votes to Off-Hour's 12.

People are forgetting the details of these scenes, in SNW 206, the prime Kirk did meet Pike for the first time as fleet captain, TOS never gave details or said it was the only time. Him being an Admiral after giving Kirk command isn’t rewriting anything.
