Show and tell
This year I was given the chance to make the 1st place prices for @norwegianopen_wcs, and @idabeach very kindly invited me up during the awards to talk a little bit about the tankards.

Putting it together
Here you have it, all put together. Looking at it now, it seems very simple, but I blame the fact that it's very difficult to make it look simple. Or something like that.
There's one more surprise left here though. Stay tuned for that shortly.
Bending on the diamond
A part of the design I wanted to emphasize with this project, was doing things on the diagonal, but that turned bending the handle shape into a challenge nearly impossible by hand. Turns out, the fly press can prove it's worth yet again.
Working on something special
This has been a project long time in the making. From idea to the current version I think we're talking about 18 months, and there's still a few things I'd like to tweak, but for now, it's done. More to come.
Finishing up something cool
With fire, because its the only right way to work with wood. More info to come.
Cold cutting 16 mm steel
The more I use it, the more I have come to love my Peddinghaus ironworker. This clip is just about real time, and I'd say that two minutes, including waiting for the machine to spin up, is not a bad time to cut 9 pieces of 16 mm round. What do you think?
Stubborn restoration work
It took quite a few rounds of bashing and straightening to get the hinge bolt out of this bending jig. I could have used a harder piece as a punch, but that would abuse the hinge bolt a lot more, and I'd rather avoid that.
New small anvil acquisition!
Cleaning up
Getting this swage black ready for many more years of service.
New anvil acquisition!
I think I have almost one of each size of this model now. Most likely a Stavanger Elektrostaal anvil.
I realised a little while back that I have never made these ball details on the middle of a rod before. So when a new job comes along that deserves a little extra.
Making some custom guillotine dies was a part of the experience, and are available for sale.

Yesterday we forged the tools, today we're using them to make tongs.
Not thongs, that's a separate class.
