I was fangirling a bit tonight to meet the wonderful Antonia Fraser at the launch of Miranda Malins’ The House of Cromwell. Her Six Wives of Henry VIII was such an influence on my early career, as was her Warrior Queens. She is an inspiration #antoniafraser #sixwivesofhenryviii #thehouseofcromwell

"Henry VIII didn't divorce Catherine of Aragon or Anne of Cleves. Their marriages were annulled."

You've probably seen that correction.
But is "divorce" really historically inaccurate?

I look at the evidence in my latest YouTube video.

In 2024 Guernsey issued a 50p collection for the six wives (flanked by a commemorative medal depicting Henry VIII). The 50p coins are legal tender in the Channel Islands and may be accepted in the rest of the UK. Personally, I’m not going to spend these. #sixwives #sixwivesofhenryviii #tudor #tudors
