A misty morning in Nara Park. A pair of Sika deer pause under tall trees: one of the deer looks toward the viewer, while the second inspects one of the many large puddles on the irregular ground. A third deer stands a litte way off in the background, partially obscured by mist. Beyond, the mist reduces a line of trees to hazy silhouettes; above, the sky is overcast and soft with diffused light. The branches of a Japanese maple tree, its leaves an intense red, screen the top of the image.
