When I watch a new film and spot parallels, I immediately recall the relevant scene from the other film; it’s like overlaying a matching, identical memory card. I finally watched Backrooms, and immediately remembered AKIRA. Would love to know if Kane Parsons had this scene in mind, too. #sidebyside

Hallway in the film Backrooms, with some lights are being turned off in the center, making that portion look like a black or dark square, with the light of the other, functional ceiling lamps still visible behind and in front of that darker section. There's also a doorway, with light coming out right in that dark, shadowy square space, too.

A similar scene can be witnessed in the film AKIRA; the hospital hallway, after Tetsuo killed a bunch of doctors / hospital workers with his powers. It's also a long hallway, with some hallway ceiling lights being destroyed/turned off, only to show like a dark, shadowy square in the center of that hallway. No bright doorway in that dark section, but a kneeling Tetsuo tho.

We recently got bikes for the Village, and the youth were excited to take them out for a ride! ☀️🚲 It was such a fun way to get outside, spend time together, and explore the neighbourhood. We’re looking forward to many more bike rides!
