Fusion of E14 chicken parabronchi! Green staining with DSHB 7D6 for L-CAM/E-cadherin stains the lung epithelium. Magenta stains for smooth muscle actin that constricts the developing parabronchi. This was imaged on a confocal microscope and is an MIP. #ShowYourWork #SeenWithDSHB #Figure1

The muscle constricts the epithelium, causing it to outpocket. These outpockets will form the future gas exchange regions in the adult chicken.
