Spent the day at Windmill Community Gardens, they brought out this barrow full of tools for me to sharpen.
So glad I brought my fuel with me (look in the top left of the barrow).

Only ever seen these Halequin Marples sets in photos, and only just realised their size, you can see a regular Marples Chisel handle in the photo.
They really remind me of some of the Japanese sets I've seen, and were glorious to sharpen.

OMG, these might be the most beautiful scissors I've ever seen.
Those curves, lines and even the patina.

When you're #sharpening a #colored #pencil and you get it just right...and the whole tip falls out.
😟
When you're re-sharpening the same pencil and you get it just right...and the whole tip falls out.
😠
Then you break out the #sandpaper.

Believe it or not, not all smaller axes are for carving, some are kindling splitters, so instead of a flat or flat over hollow grind, I give these a convex grind with an edge that'll bite before making the shoulders of the cutting edge, popping the wood apart.

Today was a day of scissors.
These 10" scissors for an uphoster in Deal, was just one of the sets brought to me.
