#octoberhorrormoviechallenge Day 8: #thething A perfect example of a great remake & one of the few rare examples where the remake is better than the original movie. To me at least, some people might prefer the original, The Thing From Another World, and that one is a good movie too. There are a few comicbook sequels & a prequel from Darkhorse Comics, a video game sequel, a planned miniseries sequel from SyFy that got cancelled, a prequel from 2010's just called The Thing (it looks bland & the CGI didn't look as great as the practical effects in John Carpenter's movie) & recent news says that John Carpenter is involved in the next Thing movie. I don't know If it's gonna be a sequel, a reboot or another remake, but with Carpenter involved I'm a little more positive.
