@caltechseismo.bsky.social#FieldPhotoFriday A little backup goes a long way! Connection issues kept our station near Cajon Pass from reliably supporting #ShakeAlert. Our field crew added satellite alongside cellular telemetry, keeping data flowing for quake detection and early warning. #CalOES
@caltechseismo.bsky.socialSpooky season is here! Our field team ventured into a tunnel near Castaic Lake to bring this seismic station back online. With a spare logger and some power parts in hand, they got the station temporarily recording again. A follow-up visit is coming soon, if they dare! #ShakeAlert #CalOES
@caltechseismo.bsky.social#FieldPhotoFriday takes us to a remote station in the Turquoise Mountains. A power charger update is planned soon to minimize fluctuations and keep the station running reliably. This background maintenance helps keep the SCSN resilient and ready. #ShakeAlert #CalOES
@caltechseismo.bsky.socialOur team recently visited a station in the Los Padres National Forest that has been recording seismic activity since 2021. This site received a new solar panel and batteries to ensure the station can continue recording earthquakes day and night! #ShakeAlert #CalOES
