Thirty years of sustained growth in SGD literature coverage and biological annotation. The figure shows two measures of SGD’s expansion from 1996 to 2025. The black line represents cumulative papers incorporated into the database, reflecting the pace at which published yeast research has been integrated. Stacked bars show cumulative annotations across major annotation types, ordered from bottom to top by year of first curation: locus summaries (orange, since 1999), GO annotations (green, since 2002), phenotype annotations (blue, since 2006), allele annotations (red, since 2006), regulation annotations (purple, since 2016), PTM annotations (cyan, since 2017), disease annotations (pink, since 2018), and functional complementation (brown, since 2021).
