American author and activist #bellhooks was born into a #WorkingClass #Black family in still-#segregated Hopkinsville, #Kentucky, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1952. In her dozens of books, she reflected on #pedagogy, #intersectionality, #capitalism, and #gender, among other subjects.
