As the geology of the planet shifts, it's not unlikely to see amber in caves, which gives the name to the Amber Nation.
Animals find refuge in the caves during winter but this means that when food is scarce, competition rises.

The Salt Lakes take, the Salt Lakes give. If we want to preserve our food and have it taste better, we should dive in the lakes to harvest the salt but with no certainty of coming back. Who survives will have one more chance to eat another day.

Spaeleomedusa fylvensis lives in the karst caves of the Forest Nation, relying on underground flowing rivers and the nutrients they bring, which also determine its metamorphosis and reproduction. It's a pseudo filter feeder also capable of predating other animals.

Coastal people evolved and adapted their whole life to the water with their anatomy and physiology.
They search for anything tasty the sea has got by boat, fishing on the coast or diving.

Legends talk about giants coming out of the ocean, causing waves and blowing currents from their nose.
It's how the umibozu pygmy whale defends itself: it scares other animals with its fake eyes and blends the rest of the body with disruptive colours.

Mermaids usually play with each other, communicating with sounds to create bonds.
Since they can breathe air, sometimes they ride waves swimming through them just for fun, or they chill on the rocky shores.

The religion of the Salt Lakes forbids to eat flamingos and robins, since they're sacred animals. Same thing with the weather stars in the Southern Islands.
In the Rivers region it's considered rude to eat the glowing mushrooms before the related festivity.
