On this day in 1987, newspapers reported that Reds manager Allan Clarke had signed Julian Broddle from Scunthorpe United. He went on to make 87 appearances over the next 3 seasons. #BarnsleyFC #JulianBroddle #ScunthorpeUnited

He started the ‘77/78 season well - this was his 5th goal in 5 league games (+1 sub) so it was surprising he only played 6 more games before being sold to Scunthorpe for £6,000. In total he made 20 league & league cup appearances & scored 5 goals. 2/2 #BarnsleyFC #RonWigg #ScunthorpeUnited
