I noticed he wasn’t on my ballot. I think that’s because Prop 50 gerrymandered him out of my district! 🤭
But make no mistake, Representative Jared Huffman @rephuffman.bsky.social is running for re-election & he has been a GREAT Congressman for the North Coast! Here are his thoughts on #SCOTUSReform

Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts about the Supreme Court. I appreciate hearing from you on this matter.

The Supreme Court is intended to serve as a co-equal, non-partisan institution, balancing our government and ensuring equal justice under the law. To ensure trust in our government, Supreme Court justices must hold themselves to the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and independence from the executive branch. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito have failed to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts and travel while serving on the Court, a stunning breach of the public’s trust. The Ethics in Government Act of 1978 requires annual financial disclosures from federal officials, including justices on the Supreme Court. Justice Thomas and Justice Alito’s conduct is unacceptable, and they must resign or face impeachment.
I am working in Congress to bring transparency, reform, and accountability to the Supreme Court. I am a cosponsor of H.R. 3544, The Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Modernization (TERM) Act of 2025, which would work to establish 18-year long term limits and set restrictions for the President’s ability to appoint Justices. Last Congress, I cosponsored the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act to increase transparency and trust in the Supreme Court by requiring justices to adhere to the same gift, travel, and income disclosures as Members of Congress, and establishing an investigative board to review ethics complaints. I was also a cosponsor of H.R. 927, the Supreme Court Ethics Act, which would similarly establish a code of ethical conduct for the Supreme Court and create an Ethics Investigations Counsel to ensure the code of conduct is followed. While some of these bills have not yet been reintroduced in the 119th Congress, I look forward to considering them alongside similar commonsense reforms to restore public trust in the Supreme Court.

Thank you again for sharing your views on this

He's "has been among...Trump’s staunchest allies on the Supreme Court. He authored 2 opinions instrumental in gutting the #VotingRightsAct ’s racial #gerrymandering protections...would have allowed Trump’s anti-mail voting measures to take effect just wks before the midterm elections" #SCOTUSreform

How did we get here?

Every sitting Supreme Court justice appointed by a Republican president is a member of the Federalist Society.

The only logical path forward is court reform to prevent any one party from stacking the deck in their favor.

7 in 10 voters support term limits for the Supreme Court — and the TERM Act would make it happen.
