And for Day 30 of #SciArtSeptember #Carbon, I give my thanks to the life around us — and to wonderful #SciArt friends like @lizlagomorph.bsky.social who bring us all together in creative joy. Live long and prosper, peace and long life, my fellow carbon-based lifeforms 🖖🧡🦑🐡🧪

Thanks for #SciArtSeptember @lizlagomorph.bsky.social

I like to see everyone's efforts and interpretations.

It's a light burden but good for me 😄

And it's something fun on the timeline amongst all the doom

Somehow it’s already #SciArtSeptember Day 30 Carbon. To wrap things up I drew a peat bog, as these bogs are a major carbon sink. www.unep.org/news-and-sto...

Colored pencil drawing of a peat bog. There’s an area of standing water surrounded by dark rich soil on either side with some pine trees in the back. The ground is populated by little mounds of plant matter that rather look like little haystacks.

Bonus #sciArt for the carbon #SciArtSeptember and the graphite #MinCup26 contender: I lino block printed circuits using graphite-based electrically conductive inks!

A printed spiral on paper and a strong magnet makes an interactive print which *is* a speaker.

#sciartseptember 2026: 1-30, the end

Thank you @lizlagomorph.bsky.social for hosting again this event and encouraging artists to produce and share art based on the natural world!

Already waiting for 2027's list!

I’m #TeamQuartz in #MinCup26 but today’s
#sciArtSeptember prompt carbon lines up with graphite, so I am sharing my #linocut of Millie Dresselhaus (née Spiewak; 1930 – 2017). She was a professor of physics & electrical engineering at MIT, known as the Queen of Carbon Science.

In this linocut I’ve

My linocut portrait of Millie Dresselhaus in white sweater, red blazer, and C for carbon necklace, with the structure of a carbon nanotube behind her, in red, silver and black ink.

Day 30! - #carbon

Double duty! It’s also #BirdWhisperer Project posting day.

Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius). Found in mature forests across Europe and parts of Asia.

The deep black was a challenge, but it fit the carbon theme nicely.

#SciArtSeptember #birdart #watercolor

Watercolor illustration of a crow-sized black woodpecker. Facing right and clinging to a tree trunk in front of a large nest cavity. The bird has a red cap and a powerful ivory-colored bill.
