Santa Monica Outlook newspaper headline & article reads: Magnificent Celebration Attended Pier Opening / Thousands of People Came from All Over Southern California and Gathered at Santa Monica's New Pier---Parade—Speeches Thousands of, citizens of Santa Monica and visitors yesterday assisted in dedicating the municipal pier--the concrete pier which marks a new era in pier construction -- and the scope of the celebration was in keeping with the importance of the event. A conservative estimate gives the number present at the morning program as 5000 persons, and the throng was greatly increased in the afternoon, crowding the pier and lining the beach on each side of the structure. All afternoon and until late in the evening three-car trains of the Los Angeles Pacific brought additional hundreds and deposited them at the head of the incline. At 10:00 o'clock the parade left the City Hall and proceeded down Oregon to Third, on Third to Arizona, on Arizona to Ocean avenue and on Ocean avenue to Colorado…
