Day: 5
Prompt: Place a favourite character, any media, into a different decade

Anne of Green Gables is a novel about the spirited, imaginative 11-year-old orphan girl of the title. Published in 1908 it remains an international best-seller to this day.

Here we have 70s Anne.

Digital mood board. Images of 70s camera, tv, car, furniture; sunflowers, a groovy bedroom, a redheaded in an iconic turtle neck with stripes. Another woman with dark hair (Anne's friend, Diana) playfully covers her face with a sunflower.

Digital mood board. Images of daisies, outdoor concerts, psychedelic fashions, a VW micro bus and a red-haired young woman blowing a dandelions' seeds depict Anne as a hippie (as well as two other central characters from the book, Diana and Gilbert). Text on the board reads "It's Time for a Love Revolution".

Separate but snakey nevertheless. I missed a couple days and this thread is a mess, but let’s go. Dewdul time.

#zineoween - fang
#sanderstober - take a character from any piece of media and depict what they'd look like as a Tim Burton character

@sennamatic.bsky.social @thomassanders.bsky.social 🐍!

Yellow and red snake with a curled tail and two big white fangs against a messy black and white background. Doodled with a grin on Dewdul. Prompt was: fang.

“I’m the snake come to trick you into sinning.” A quick doodle of Janus from Sanders Sides drawn as a messy Tim Burton character. Yellow on black background. Janus is wearing his hat and suit and seen holding up a green octopus with a tiny mustache in his right hand (oh who could that be?). Dangling from a web in his left is a black spider with purple markings (might that be a messy little stormcloud?). The quote at the top is written in Burton-inspired lettering and everything is all pointed and curly and sullen. And whimsical! Fun.

Okay, we’re gonna call these crossovers my niche I guess because idk where this one came from!

#zineoween - thorny 🌹
#sanderstober - “…please choose a movie/TV show/video game/any piece of media and create what the Keyblade might look like in that world!” 🔑

*Over the Garden Wall inspired Keyblade*

Overgrowth and plant life cut from various scrapbook and office papers. Thorny vines surround the trunk of an old tree and span across to a stand-alone purple door with an embossed flower. At the center is a Kingdom Hearts style keyblade inspired by Wirt and Greg’s hats from Over the Garden Wall. The key handle is a teapot and the teeth are red cone shapes. Starting at the top left, green inked letters flow into the rays of sun and make up the quote: “hope grows in unexpected places.” In a purple square at the bottom left in glitter gel ink is the quote, “may your heart be your guiding key.” Hanging on the tree is a tiny purple frame containing all of the leftover green paper scraps cutoff to shape the thorns. The caption on the frame reads: “sharps container.”

Oops I combined them again.

#zineoween - pumpkin
#sanderstober - Look at the top five emojis in your Recents. Create a Halloween-y scene inspired by them.

I’ll go back to pen and paper soon, but Dewdul is just so fun <3

Image of a doodle with a mix of dark and light purple hues for the background. 5 silly pumpkins are in a row depicting my top 5 recent emojis: 🙄😞😅💜😆 (It’s been an expressive week yapping about work in the group chat.) The pumpkins are orange with black outlines and yellow coloring.

Working on rough concepts for an interactive zine. Decided to combine the first day prompts from #zineoween (bewitching) and #sanderstober (sept30 vs oct1st)
“A full-time witch’s welcome”
Ignore the Bob’s Burgers audio (tho it is a Halloween ep!). This is gonna be a fun one. Happy haunting everyone!
