#Gibraltar - 30/09 - overnight misty low cloud was soon pushed away by the light to gentle Westerly, with mainly high cloud and #SaharanDust giving hazy sunshine - with this earlier view of the Rock - at midday, winds have now flipped Easterly with a muggy 24C.

We have an increase in Saharan dust today pushing N across parts of Iberia including the local area - expect some haziness/ calima skies - dusty rain possible with any showers over the peninsula, more especially to the NE.

A very muggy start with some misty low cloud and perhaps a risk of any fog lingering in the area - giving way to mainly hazy sunny skies for the afternoon with increasing high cloud and #SaharanDust.
Light or gentle Westerly or variable winds flipping Easterly, ~26C.

7:30 PM - Mild surges of #SaharanDust will affect air quality across T&T on Tuesday, ahead of an approaching Tropical Wave, and again by Friday, mainly across Tobago.

#Gibraltar - 13/09 - a great early Satellite Image thanks to @dundeesat.bsky.social 👇 - showing that low cloud this morning over the nearby Alboran/ Eastern Strait and affecting the Rock - also the #SaharanDust layer nudging far enough N to reach the Strait but with highest concentrations to the S.

The forecast through this weekend to Monday shows we have some Saharan dust nudging back up across the far South of the peninsula at altitude which may make the sunshine a little hazier - however, for the #CanaryIslands some higher concentrations.

Good news, as forecast yesterday, we have a temporary switch to a Westerly flow/ Poniente today and for Wednesday, this sees that plume of dust gradually being pushed SE with those hazy skies replaced by some clearer Atlantic air.
