Happy birthday #RubyBridges
"Wisdom is a gift, but has nothing to do with age."
When I see #RubyBridges is 72 today I realize that she is 12 years younger than my (estranged) mother. My parents’ deep racism suddenly recontextualized from a disgraceful anachronistic anomaly, to the sad reality that the people of “that time” are still in THIS time voting and making decisions.

Happy Birthday to Ruby Bridges! At just six, she became the first Black child to attend William Frantz Elementary as it was desegregated. Her courage still inspires us today, including at the FCDAO, where a lobby honors her legacy. #RubyBridges #HappyBirthday #FultonCountyDA

I have family members alive today who attended segregated schools.
#RubyBridges is a living historical figure and further proof of why #CivilRights matter.
Thank you, Ruby, for being an inspiration to generations of people who simply want the opportunity to determine their own futures.
Happy 72nd birthday to #RubyBridges. The 1st African American child to attend formerly whites-only #WilliamFrantzElementarySchool in #Louisiana.
I have NEVER heard of #RUBYBRIDGES in my life and DGAF either but R/T your post only bc I just LOVED your description of them.
