Sanae's shrine maiden goals conflicting with Reimu's ideals are great. She is ultimately a good person, but she's still naive of how gensokoyo works and vital the Hakerei Shrine Maiden is maintaining this sanctuary for yokai and gods.

The moriya shrine are handled pretty well, playing the role as the new rulers of yokai mountain and wanted to expand across gensokoyo to gather faith makes for great anime arc villains group. But are written in empathetic way.

Probably the biggest highlight is Sanae honestly.

Considering at the time Sanae didn't have the greatest reputation in the fandom I do applaud the writers leaning into her initial MoF antagonistic rival role

Overall thoughts on the MoF arc, it's really good, especially with the gameplay. While largely the roster is the same as the Scarlet arc. With how so much more developed characters skills are. Theres been way more opportunities to plan alot team up attacks.
