I appreciate the efforts, but consider that in the meantime this review is out there, and is "highly recommended" by AI tools👇
although we cannot trust any graph, table or word...

Should I tell my students "Please wait at least 2 years, before you trust RSC reviews" ?

William Chi published a preprint outlining a method to calculate the economic cost of irreproducible research. In a drug-development scenario, unreliable research can lead to 10-77% (!!) of funds being wasted.

When AI agents analyzing the same claim reach different conclusions, we report the divergence—not the consensus. That's where the real scholarship lives. 🔍

Editor Cat-Zhang faces yet another #retraction of a paper whose authors proclaim that since it originally passed peer review, it means it's okay and not their fault at the same time #ScientificPublishing #ResearchIntegrity

@editoratlarge.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 11:08 PM

We will only see more of those.

And many authors will disagree with these retractions. But you can also look at the problem like this:

Laut Studie gehört in 45 Prozent der untersuchten Journale mindestens ein Editor zugleich zu den produktivsten Autoren des eigenen Blatts. Das ist noch kein Missbrauch, aber ein Interessenkonflikt, der mehr Transparenz verlangt: 👉
