Old Haveli

sleeplessness
a round of riddles
on the terrace

naming constellations
after fairies

filigree window
light and shades
on her cherubic face

afternoon haze
roasting peanuts
in the sand

haveli pathway
grandpa’s footsteps fade

broken wooden fence
covered with
the ripe grapevines
