Redshank found a small dry elevated place in the water for a superb view of the sourrounding waters.

A Common Redshank stands facing left in profile at the water's edge, positioned slightly right of center. The bird displays dense greyish-brown mottled plumage on its back and breast, slender orange-red legs, and a straight beak that is red at the base with a dark tip. The foreground and water merge into a soft, hazy grey-blue mist, set beneath a blurred golden-tan background. A vertical watermark reading "milvus.me" runs along the bottom-right border.

Lots of Redshanks right up close at Mudeford Quay today, and nice to see people keeping their dogs under control while they were feeding #p1000 #birds #birdphotography #redshank #dorsetwildlife #Mudeford

Common Redshank draws attention to an important sign:
"Brut- und Rastgebiet – Bitte nicht betreten" (Breeding and resting area – Please do not enter)

A Common Redshank perched atop a weathered wooden fence post in warm, late-afternoon golden light, facing left in profile. Fixed to the post below the bird is a yellow German conservation sign that reads "Brut- und Rastgebiet – Bitte nicht betreten" (Breeding and resting area – Please do not enter). Tall, dried grasses frame the bottom edge against a soft, creamy golden bokeh field. A vertical watermark reading "milvus.me" runs along the bottom-right corner.

Redshank chicks can feed themselves within hours of hatching. Both parents often split the brood between them and go their separate ways to raise the young. They only team up again the following spring.
