Today, we honour missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people, and stand with the families and communities seeking answers and justice.

Our commitment to safety and justice must continue beyond October 4.

October 1 is Treaty Day in Nova Scotia. In 1986, Mi’kmaq Grand Chief Donald Marshall Sr. called on Mi’kmaw people to observe the date each year in recognition of the treaty relationship between the Mi’kmaq and the Crown.
