#Inktober Day 4. The prompt was “Cactus”. Can you spot it? This is twice as big as my usual drawings. Ralph Steadman’s ink splatters are very difficult to emulate. Mine aren’t as good but I threw them in as a nod to him.

An ink drawing with ink spatters of a scene from “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” POV: Hunter S Thompson and his “lawyer” look back at you from the front seat of their Cadillac.

Ralph Steadman first worked as a cartoonist at the Kemsley Newspaper Group in 1959. His cartoons have since appeared in Punch, the Daily Telegraph and Private Eye. #RalphSteadman

I just read Man Bites Man, a book of drawings/cartoons by various artists from 1981. A lot of ho-hum, but I thought this piece by Ralph Steadman, "Ecology Lesson", was worth sharing. https://archive.org/details/manbitesmantwode0000unse/page/196/mode/2up

A black and white pen-and-ink drawing. A child sits in front of a screen. The child's face is distorted as though burned or mutilated. There are wires connecting the child's face and head to the screen. Text on the screen reads: "Hi Kid!! Today, I'm gonna learn you about nature". To the left is a tree with a bird, a single musical note indicates the bird is singing.
