At the end of a long day, wondering when the #rain will come back. I freely admit that I’m a #Pluviophile #ColorADay #PinkMon #MacroMonday #Macro #Roses #BloomScrolling #RaindropsOnRoses #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

A pink rose petal fell onto the green leaf of another plant during a rainstorm a couple of weeks ago. Raindrops on everything. It’s October 5 and was still in the 80s Fahrenheit here today, when it should be in the 50s-60s and rainy most of the time.

I’ve been trying to get a #macro shot like this for years. It’s not the best, but I’ll keep looking for the right setup and conditions. #ColorADay #PinkMon #MacroMonday #RaindropsOnRoses #Roses #BloomScrolling #Raindrops #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #KeepGoing

A macros shot of tiny crystal raindrop orbs line the edge of a green rose leaf. The foreground is the green of the left and some other blurred raindrops, and the background is full pink because of a rose behind the raindrops, and the raindrops are creating a lens that shows a teeny-tiny upside down version of the pink rose. When I was young, I saw work from another PNW photographer who did this with sunflowers, and I have dreamed of getting a shot like this my entire life. This still isn’t as good as his was, but it’s closer than I’ve ever come before, and I will keep trying!

Here, have this raindrop-sprinkled rose for #RoseWednesday, and I hope it’s a good one for you. #RaindropsOnRoses #Roses #BloomScrolling #Macro #NatureIsArt #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

Closeup of little crystal orb-like raindrops resting on rose petals. The petals are a peachy pink, but as you go towards the center of the rose at the top of the pictures the petals start to get more yellow. The lighting is shade, but early morning post-rain sunshine coming in through the trees.
