@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialAnd now here are your #o-Hillmoveinight #OfficialMovieNiminations for this week's #MovienightTheme #QuirkFest a celebration of laughter at our #Quirks #LemonyShicket'sASeriesofUnfortunateEvents #BrotherfromANotherPlaent #I'mGonnaGitYouSucka #HeadOffice #MissPeregirinesHomeforPeculiarChildren
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialThis is one of those #CultClassics that gaine more fans with each new watching. The Artwork reflects this with more #FanArt available then in recent showings. #JohnSayles Directing brought a great performance from Morgan #QuirkFest #BrotherFromAnotherPlanet
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#JoeMorton #BrotherfromAnotherPlanet [ #WholeFilm] to #Terminator2 to #Eureka] has had an interesting career as a versatile actor But Brother was possibly his most Challenging since he had no lines in this one. If you #Don'tKnowJoe watch this one #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialn #I'mGonnaGitYouSucka we learnseveral important #LifeLessons
#EveryGoodHero needs his #ThemeMusic #NeverMessWith a woman who has #Cramps & of course you can #GoOuttheWindoworTheStairs... Just about the WHole Wyans family was involved in this film... & it shows #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialAt the Turn #movienight presents the #FunniestParody of the #BlaxploitationFilm era [ #Late60s-Mid70s] #I'mGonnaGitYouSucka is, in many ways The #WayansFamilyOpus & slightly more #familyfirendly than #InLivingColor #WholeMovie #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialUnlike #MissPeregirne below, a movie like #HeadOffice The #PromoArt is thin with this one. The premise has overlap w/ #THeSecretofMySucces but #HeadOffice camefirst and did it better... or atleast more eventfully #WallaceShawn #DannyDeVito #RIckMoranis #BoxingPromoter #DonKing #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialSomeone asked has #JudgeReinhold done anything besides #BeverlyHillsCop? A: Yes Q: What? A: Um...
#HeadOfficeis 1of those movies. Reinhold is mentored by a slacker & a hardliner in an environment that Breeds #HeartAttacks & #NervousBreakdowns #WHoleFilm #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialhen a popular fantasy series gets to the #MovieTheater you can count lots of #FanArt [1] #TheDarkthatEatstheLight [3] #HungryMonsterTime [4] Its #AllAbouttheTentacles [2] #Misspregirne mark of a good series is that the Stories are #LikeNoOther. Not bad for Starting as a #PictureBook #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#MissPeregrine is an #Animagus whose #Animal form is a #Birdofprey. She watches over children of... #DifferentAbilities who are hunted by Baddies & #invisibleMonsters by hiding in a #24HourTimeLoop. #WhatCouldGoWrong #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#GoodMorningUVa & Welcome to #O-HillMovienight's #OfficialMovienightNominations for this week's #MovinightTheme #QuirkFest a much needed #ComicRelief that #Changesperspectives & #MakesusGoHMMM. So sit back and enjoy some #1ofaKind #CinemaTreats #OnWiththeShow!
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialAnd that brings us to our #Intermission for this week's #MovienightTheme #QuirkFest Those moments when #theStrange saves us from the darkest night, leaving us thinking " #Wow,ThatWasDifferent #ButILikeIt" #BeingJohnMalkovich #Airheads #AmazonWomenontheMoon #Rushmore
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialThese #BeingJohnMalkovich #MoviePosters have been reproducing since last we checked in with this film. This is the first measure of public popularity for a movie like this... What kind of #FanArt does it generate. Movienightreally likes the look of [3] the #headstringPuppet in this #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialTalk about #ExistentialQuirk, This is an Interview with #JohnMalkovich about a movie where other people are him... at least for a little while. This is like #talkingincircles but actually getting somewhere... But is there here? #MovienightBonusFeature #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#TopoftheCutlist is our #QuirkiestMovie today- #BeingJohnMalkovich, an #ExistentialParable of #Identity & #Immortality & an ending that looks like a #PearlJam #AlbumCover. #SpikeJonze [AKA #AdamSpiegel] #Directs [brillaintly] the Script by #CharlieKaufman #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.socialContinuing the #Fav80sStars list from #Airheads #MichaelRichards #ChrisFarley #HaroldRamis #RobZombie & so on... WHielwe have moved on from the 80s #Music&RadioIndustries, we have not moved up and Artists are just as exploited now as ever #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#Airheads is one of the few movies that Movienight will play the end of
... Much like the #BluesBorthers it ends with the #BandPlaying... In Jail [ #JailHouseRock BB, #Degenerated #TheLoneRangers #MovienightBonusFeature #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#KentuckyFriedMovie & #AmazonWomen are essentially #SketchComedyMovies. The differnce between the 2 is that AWotM is against the backdrop of a " #ComercialFree" #1950sSciFi #BMovie. After each sketch the #FictionalTVStation states the "Movie Continues #WithoutFurtherInteruption" #QuirkFest #Cutlist
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#JohnLandis [ #AnimalHouse, #BLuesBrothers, #AnAmericanWerewolfinLondon & #QuirkDirector Royalty] made up for #the3Amigos with this sequel to his #2ndFilm #KentuckyFriedMovie- #AmazonWOmenontheMoon. #QuirkFest
@o-hillmovienight.bsky.social#Rushmore is a #Fable of #Jealousy&Revenge. In such cases the #QuirkiertheCombatants, the #BettertheMovie. #BillMurraycertainly did some #Mentoring in this film that helped #JasonSchwartzman, especially in subsequent #WesAndersonMovies #QUirkFest continues
