Omfg another musical bike-dancing number 🤣

And why not?? It's been nearly four minutes since the last one...

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

A crowd has gathered, so you know it's something bike-related.Yup, as I suspected.Looks like Ray-Gun, the Australian break dancer's routine.
@kcookandcatsco.bsky.socialOct 16, 2026, 1:58 AM

Would you believe me if I told you there was a dance-off between a ballet dancer and a guy on a bicycle in this movie? 🤔

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

Huh! This is... different. I thought he was taking his bike in a huff and leaving, but... nah. They're dance-off-ing, and Jack's just on his bike for it. I guess that's what gives him the edge.

Now, we're getting somewhere. Like Coach Kelvin Sampson, Jack has lost the tie, unbuttoned the top button and is letting it all hang out 😮‍💨

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

Well, the briefcase is down the stairs, and all the papers are flying around in the air. Might as well lose that tie, get some of them buttons undone.There we go! That feels more natural, right?
@kcookandcatsco.bsky.socialOct 16, 2026, 1:21 AM

Oof. This hits. My gracious...

See, now this is a proper film. I don't think it's, like, of especially high or noteworthy quality, but it *is* quality.

This totally got me. I'm in tears now, bc that's a real, powerful moment, and I feel it 😭

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

I hope he loses that douchey mustache soon. I've had about as much of that as I can stand.Oooooooof, good Dad move. Saving it till his kid had left (after he begged him to stay, so he could comfort him). I'm a sucker for good movie dads, and this one seems all right.

This is wild. This movie's such a vibe! Not a good one, I wouldn't say, but I respect that it's going as hard as it's going

Bacon's strut (as Jack Casey) is really something. And he 'talks to the hand' the guy who tries to waylay him. Bacon's a bad bitch in this one 💁‍♀️

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

Oh, man, you can't see it bc it's still frames, but he is swinging his hips, just gyrating across the trading floor here. Hot shit, he thinks he is! clearly! It's, like, theatrical it's so Big.Talk to the hand! 👋

Smiling Jack Casey: "Harumph. Business! Business business business. Options. Business business business the market. And then you'll be out on your ass! Harumph. Business business business..."

That's directly from the script, too. What a film 😆

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🎥

I'm being a bit hyperbolic, but not much! This is not striking me as a great script, but I haven't given it that long yet, either. Also, it's beloved, and I'm going to hurt people's feelings if I don't find something to like about this...Harumph! Business business business. If I've businessed you once, I've businessed you a million times, Johnson! Do you not know business?!
@kcookandcatsco.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 11:40 PM

Bahahaha, this must be what Nick Mason of @theweeklyplanet.bsky.social refers to as a "Snobs vs Slobs movie," and one in which the hero Slob protagonist starts the story out as a Snob (a common trope).

This moment fr made me chuckle 😆

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

Those glasses... this whole look is really something. I'm into this.Aw, man, he looks so free and unencumbered by the banalities of yuppie life. Gosh...But here I am, just a dork with slicked back hair and weird, showy glasses, reading a newspaper in a suit in the back of a cab in NYC. What would I know of freedom and bike messengerings?

I was wondering, "How long until we see Kevin Bacon?" and it is NOT long

However, the bike gets a loving, almost-pornographic, look-in first, speaking perhaps to this film's priorities?

This is a BIKE movie ✊

also a Kevin Bacon movie! But look at that BIKE, BABYY 🤩

#FilmSky 🎥 #Quicksilver1986 🧵

Ohhh, yeahhhhhh look at that hot bike! Don't you want to fuck it, I mean, ride it? No, yeah, I meant fuck it. Don't you want to fuck that sexy, hot bike??UUUNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH just look at those bike parks. They go all the way wherever it is they go, I'll you that much. Bang Bacon. Pretty quick. The credits sequence was, of course, hours long, but in terms of the action of the film, it's a quick couple shots (bang bang) of the cyclist and bike and then here that cyclist is coming up behind Bacon's character's... town car? He seems to be reading a newspaper. Probably isn't driving.
@kcookandcatsco.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 11:28 PM

Sorry it's been a while since I posted; it's just been the same credits sequence the whole time, so I'm kind of riding it out.

No pun intended! 🚴‍♀️

I'm kidding. I took a little break to do some stuff. I'm back to watching now. Let's try to knock this out, and push me even further up the ReelRank weekly review leaderboard.Jesus, still going, is it?
