A tall, skeletal marionette-like figure stretches across a cream-colored paper background covered with loose washes, splattered pigment, dripping ink, and frantic black linework. Its narrow black body rises from an explosive cluster of rusty red, orange, brown, and black marks near the lower center. Extremely long, thin arms extend outward in opposite directions, ending in delicate, clawlike hands that appear connected to fine dangling strings. Curling black tendrils sprout around its shoulders and head, giving the figure an insectlike, theatrical silhouette. Behind it, a huge translucent orange pumpkin face looms in the upper right, its oversized dark circular eyes and scribbled mouth partially dissolving into gray, coral, and ochre watercolor stains. A tiny jack-o'-lantern hangs from thin lines in the upper left, trailing black drips beneath it. Near the bottom right, another orange pumpkin rests on the ground, surrounded by curling stems and loose sketch marks. Gray washes pool across the lower background while orange and red splatters punctuate the composition, creating the appearance of an unruly Halloween illustration assembled from watercolor, ink, scratches, stains, and energetic gestures.
