#ThomasAshe, a veteran of the #EasterRising against the British, was killed in #MountjoyPrison in 1917 on #ThisDayInHistory. His boots and bed had been confiscated, and he was on #HungerStrike to demand #PrisonerOfWar status. He died of complications from barbaric #ForceFeeding.
